PRIVACY POLICY
Short version: the only personal data this site touches is the email address you volunteer for the waitlist. No cookies, no third-party requests, no tracking. Everything runs on our own server in the EU. The details follow.
WHO WE ARE
Operation Steel is a product of Steuber Design, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands. Steuber Design is the data controller for everything described on this page.

WHAT WE PROCESS AND WHY
THE WAITLIST
When you sign up for the waitlist, we store exactly two things: your email address and the UTC timestamp of your signup. Nothing else — no IP address, no name, no device data.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing us.
ANALYTICS
We measure visits with a self-hosted Plausible CE instance running on the same infrastructure as this site. It works without cookies and stores no personal data: your IP address and user agent are used only transiently to compute a visitor hash that changes every day, and are never written to disk. There is no tracking across other websites, and analytics data never leaves our own server.
WHY WE'RE ALLOWED TO
The waitlist runs on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): you give it by voluntarily entering your email address, and you can withdraw it at any time — via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to steuberdesign@gmail.com. Withdrawing is as easy as signing up and doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Independently of that, the entire waitlist is deleted no later than 12 months after the launch campaign.
Analytics retains no personal data at all, so there is nothing to keep or delete on that front.
WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES
Everything — this website, the waitlist database and the analytics instance — runs on our own server hosted at Hostinger, physically located in Germany (EU). Hostinger acts as our processor in its role as hosting provider.
The page itself is self-contained: fonts and the analytics script are served from our own domain, and your browser makes no requests to third parties when you visit this site.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you
- have it rectified if it's wrong
- have it erased
- withdraw your consent at any time
- object to processing
- receive your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email steuberdesign@gmail.com. Given that we only hold your email address and a timestamp, most requests are handled by simply deleting the row.
If you believe we're handling your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
When the Operation Steel app launches, things will change: there will be user accounts, and — only with a separate, explicit consent checkbox — health-related data such as weight, height and training goal. This policy will be revised before that happens.
